So, basically, A Nightmare on Elm Street is being remade in 2010. What I think would be a better idea is a prequel to the original.
Think about it, if you understand the legend of Freddy Krueger, you know that the reason he exists in children's nightmares is because he vowed revenge on the Elm Street children after the parents of Springwood took the law into their own hands and burned him alive. Why did they take his life? He was a child murderer who killed 20 children.
Why not make the movie about how he became the Freddy we all know and love and how he became a psychotic killer in the first place? I think it could be interesting in many ways. So many details led up to his character in the entire series. I think a prequel would be well suited for it.

An origin film would be OK with me if the kids weren't little... I don't think I could watch it if it was little kids.
I think they should make a slasher film about Wal-Mart... where maybe Freddy goes off on everybody there... customers, workers... everyone. I love to shop there, but everyone is so annoying... people bumping into me with buggies like I'm invisible... and why the f#$k are they always cleaning the restrooms? They never let you in because cleaning is in progress... but the things are never clean when you do get in... I say let Freddy loose on all of them. motto: Slashing Prices Storewide!
Lol... I'm just kidding about the Wal-Mart thing... would be funny though.
