My Dad said he saw a huge hammerhead shark swimming near the surface of the beach when he was young. He swore the sucker was 18 feet. I can't swim, so I don't even take baths.  Hammerheads are awesome! We, need to teach you how to swim. If I can teach my Mom, I can teach anybody  |

That's so cool. the only gator I've ever seen was one they kept at the fair about 10 years ago. He was in a tank that could only fit him and a few inches of water. He pretty much couldn't even move.  |

There are no gators right in my immediate area, that I know of. But, there are plenty a little east of here. I got to kayak up close to some down in Georgia and got some good pictures.

It's mostly peaceful. I don't know what it is about being suspended above the water like that. There's no motor noise and you can just glide along unnoticed by most animals. It's great for pictures. Here's one of the Georgia gators. I took a picture of this one when my Mom and me rented a boat to go out in the Okefenokee Swamp on the way back from seeing the shuttle launch last winter. |
