Out of these I liked The Ring better.

I think the ring is still the unchallanged best of the genre. There was a Canadian film with George C. Scott called the Changling, that could deliver the chills as well

I thoroughly enjoyed The Changeling. Big George C. Scott fan, here. He created another phenomenal performance in that one.

Exorcist, because it's very psychological and unnerving.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Changeling. Big George C. Scott fan, here. He created another phenomenal performance in that one. this is the one for me as much as i love the three evil deads there is no comparsion when i first seen the changeling when i was 7 maybe 8 it gave me chills and in the tens of thousands of movies i have seen only a handful have given me chills i absolutely agree with you on george c .scotts performance its amazing to watch every time and the score especially at the beginning credits is truly haunting

Insidious should probably be in here. That is one of the greatest horror films I've seen in years. Became an instant favorite and has withstood the test of time, so far.
