I started in the late 90s and watched wrestling for close to ten years. It got stupid, so I just quit, out of nowhere. Part of it was the fact that I had just graduated, had been working my first job and meeting new people, my first relationship and things like that. I hadn't missed an episode, either. That includes WWF and WCW.

I've been reminiscing of the WCW days in the 90s. MAN, I miss those days. I'd probably jump right on it if it were anything like it were, then. I also completely forgot how much I dug Arn Anderson in WCW! Looking back on it, I think the WCW era was the form of wrestling I enjoyed most. The nWo Wolfpack, The Filthy Animals, The FOUR HORSEMEN, Goldberg, Sid Vicious. Wow. And if that wasn't my favorite era, it would have to be WWF during the same time frame. With Undertaker and the Ministry, Brood with Gangrel, Edge and Christian. I do miss wrestling of the 90s. This theme just threw me right back in those days...

Ah, the Horsemen... the stable that made stables cool... and in my opinion the best ever. The stats show it too, the members of the Horsemen held more gold than anyone - Tag team, Heavyweight along with numerous TV and US titles. Just look at Flair: 16 World championships by himself. When you throw in Sting, Luger, Windam, Benoit, Jarrett and Sid... they were literally on top of the world.
And Arn Anderson... I miss him more than any retired wrestler. He was amazing. The promos he cut are legendary, nobody made wrestling seem more real and more serious than Arn.
I'm going to do a little research and figure out how many world titles that former Horsemen have held...

I did some research myself, but on Arn. I see he retired from wrestling because of a recurring injury. He debated making a return, but a friend of his slapped him on the back at the gym to say hello, and his arm went numb for about 2 hours. I liked him a hell of a lot as the manager of the horsemen, too, or whatever it was he did. I can't exactly remember.

Arn suffered that injury to Lex Luger in a match right after the NWO first made it's appearance. I'm sure he'd probably still be going today if not for the injury. OK, I looked up the information on the Four Horsemen - They have an incredible amount of world titles among them. Ric Flair is considered by some to have 21 world titles but for the sake of argument we'll go with the 16 recognized by all. And of course this is just the World titles... They've all held many more belts including a ridiculous amount of tag championships. Here is the list of Horsemen members that have won world titles The grand total is 61... Yes, 61 World Titles for the former Horsmen!Ric Flair - 16eight-time NWA Champion six-time WCW Champion two-time WWF Champion Jeff Jarrett - 15six-time NWA Champion (TNA) four-time WCW Champion three-time USWA Unified Champion two-time WWA Champion Sting - 14six-time WCW Champion two-time WCW International World Champion two-time NWA Champion three-time TNA Champion WWA Champion Sid Vicious - 6two-time WCW Champion two-time WWF Champion two-time USWA Unified Champion Curt Hennig - 4 AWA Champion WWC Universal Champion two-time i-Generation Champion Lex Luger - 3two-time WCW Champion WWA Champion Chris Benoit - 2WCW Champion World Champion (WWE) Barry Windham - 1NWA Champion

Wow, and that's not including the tag titles, either. As well as other titles. Intercontinental, U.S., Hardcore, European, and so on.
Sid Vicious. I liked him a lot in WCW.

yeah, that's what I'm saying - 61... just the world titles. I'm too lazy to make a chart of ALL the belts I liked Sid too, a great big man. Do you remember when he first started? As a member of the Skyscrapers with Dan Spivey and Mark Callous (The Undertaker)? That was a golden age for tag teams with the Road Warriors, Doom, the Rock and Roll Express, the Midnite Express the Steiners the Horsemen and so on. Those Skyscrapers were some big freaking dudes... but the Road Warriors still threw them around like rag dolls ;D Those were the days. Sid and Dan Spivey Spivey with Mean Mark (Taker) and Teddy Long too of course

Unfortunately, I started watching a bit later than that, around 96 or 97. Maybe a year or two later? I do recall Teddy Long being a referee in WCW, though. Kinda weird how he became the GM of SmackDown! I've always liked the guy. A bit off topic, here, but at a recent UFC event with Brock Lesnar, the Undertaker was there. He is an avid fan of mixed martial arts, and occasionally, we'll see him at an event. Brock just lost a huge upset and lost his title to Cain Velasquez. I always thought he and Brock were good friends, but apparently not. Rumors have been flying, but I'm still unsure if the facts are known or not. Either way, it's an interesting chat that a great MMA reporter has with Undertaker. Some are saying that this was set up by Vince to draw attention to a possible Brock appearance at Wrestlemania, others say Vince wants nothing to do with Brock after leaving the way he did. I'm not sure what Taker meant by "Do you wanna do it?", but I guess we'll never know.

I started watching the WWE off and on around the time of the 1st WrestleMania. My dad kepted saying that it's just cartoons and "fake". I didn't believe him. The only time I was able to watch is when he was working odd hours like 4p.m.-1a.m., 10a.m.-7p.m. and other time frames of the day and/or night. Until around WrestleMania X, I was able to watch on a weekly basis and haven't missed a show since. Even though I would miss the PPVs. Until the time of WrestleMania XVII is when I started watching the PPVs. My favorite Time frame is the 1990's of the "Attitude Era" and Stone Cold Steve Austin saying: "You sit there and you thump your Bible, and you say your prayers, and it didn't get you anywhere! Talk about your Psalms, talk about John 3:16... Austin 3:16 says I just whooped your ass!". And the storylines he had with Triple H (I believe at the time he was known as Hunter Hearst Helmsley, before the name change.) and mostly with Vince McMahon. It just sucks now that the WWE has gone "PG" and trying not to show Austin doing the double birds during his entrance in the ring. When he makes an appearance every now and then. Either way I'll never stop watching. Seeing the picture of Spivey and 'Taker. Teddy Long kinda looks like Snoop Dogg.

Teddy sort of acted like Snoop Dogg back then I remember those times when it was hard to get to see any wrestling at all. If you got to see just one show (on a fuzzy TV) a month you were lucky. I think that's one reason it doesn't seem as good now... you can see it almost everyday of the week. It's watered down and the championships aren't as important. But at least we don't have to scrap and fight to just get to watch it. That deal with the Undertaker was when Vince McMahon was trying to talk Lesnar into facing Taker at Wrestlemania. Personally I think it was a setup, but Lesnar wound up turning them down. I'll give the man credit... he said he wasn't wrestling anymore and wanted to do it for real... and he has stuck to his guns. Wrestlemania would have been a HUGE payday for him.
