We needed a roundtable discussion thread for this football season so... In the greatest statistical season ever for quarterbacks - everybody is too busy Tebowing to notice!

Week 15 I don't know why but I'm excited about watching football again today. I shouldn't be - Carolina is on a losing trend and Miami is in disarray with no head coach. But, sometimes the "nothing to lose" weeks are the most fun. I'm looking forward to seeing if Tebow and the Broncos can put one on the Cheatriots - and hopefully Cam Newton can break the rookie record for yards this week... he is on pace to be the only qb to ever throw for 4,000 yards and run for 500 in a season... and he's just a rookie! He only needs 427 yards and he's got 3 games to do it. I guess I'll flip flop from the Fins and Panthers games to the Red Zone Channel for the first games... and probably watch the Denver game a 4:00. Update: I've been waiting for 15 weeks to post this... a bit too long, but it makes it just that much more sweet...

Aside from seeing Oakland choke in the final seconds, the Chiefs beating Green Bay was possibly the best moment of week 15. There's also a record that the Broncos have. Longest winning streak after a Super Bowl. 13. Green Bay tied it, and I thought for sure they'd beat Kansas City, but Kyle Orton trolled the NFL and beat Aaron Rodgers at his own game. Wow. Chris and I go to a local sports bar every Sunday to watch the games. You know I live in California, which means there are tons of obnoxious Raider fans there. Not only are they loud and obnoxious and cheer every time Oakland gains one yard, but they watch my game, too, and are always talking crap behind me when I'm watching the game. They wouldn't let up yesterday, they actually got to see Denver lose for the first time in 2 months. So you could imagine the sound of silence when Stafford brought the Lions back from a 27-14 defecit to score the winning touchdown with seconds left to play. I wonder if it's karma? It almost came close to making up for Denver losing. Almost.

I hated to see Denver lose, but they have had a good stretch and they didn't play too badly. Other than that I had a perfect football day on the field (Fantasy was a different story lol...). I'm really glad GB lost now, because I like them and was not looking forward to having to pull against them just to see our perfect season stand alone.
Carolina played a whole game against Houston like they played the first half against Atlanta. The difference really was no Matt Ryan... he's playing lights out, no offense to the ex-Tarheel TJ Yates.
And it's always good to see the Jests get embarrassed. Reggie Bush went off and even Spiller had a great game in the loss. I knew all he needed was some playing time. He's better than Bush... he's got all the same moves, better speed and waaaaaaaaay better vision. Bush has Barry like moves at times but his open field vision is horrible. He has no problem with the guy in front of him but it's almost like he's trying to find the most congested area after that.
It's another amazingly inept Miami coaching decision as to why Bush is not returning ANY kicks. Our KO and PR are heat seeking missiles to the first person they see.
And on a final note... how about that sack of the year? Dumervil crushing Brady. Did you see the size of Tom's eyes as he was awaiting impacting the ground? Priceless...

His ass hit the ground so hard he could taste it. That was probably my favorite play of that game. Damn near made up for that loss. I remember seeing how big his eyes were when I was watching it live, too. Awesome hit. As far as Green Bay goes, there are players I like (Driver, Raji) and players I don't like (Matthews). But I'm kind of tired of seeing bandwagon fans around here. No matter what team it is, whenever someone wins the Super Bowl, this city will be crowded with that team's fans. It's nuts. Aside from Oakland and San Diego right now, Green Bay has the highest amount of fans. And they almost outnumber San Diego. What's worse, is I'd never seen a Saints fan in my life until they won the Super Bowl. Then out come the bandwagoners. Haha.

I just pay those people as little attention as possible. I made my Mom mad after the Dolphins/Cowboys game (she's a huge Cowboys fan). I was pretty ticked for some reason at that loss and she comes in the room all giggly and happy about Dallas winning and I said "I'm sure you and all the other band-wagon Cowboy fans, who couldn't find the state of Texas on a map, are really happy." "His ass hit the ground so hard he could taste it." ;D ;D ;D

I commented the same comment on a youtube video. Got the top comment. Haha. My Dad's cousin is from Texas and she is about as die hard a Cowboys fan as I am Denver. I can handle myself pretty well with a Denver loss (Last season sure helped me get used to losing). But she is never happy if the Cowboys lose. She came over on Thanksgiving one year and the Broncos and Cowboys were playing. It went into overtime and I remember Ron Dayne making a long run into Cowboys territory to set up the win. Some time after the game I felt like messing with her. I walked up to her, cleared my throat and said...... "Denver:. She responded with "GET OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!"

Haha...
I don't usually get to upset especially during a losing season. But when it comes to the Cowboys I have extra motivation... I won't go into a long story, but a couple of people who have done me EXTREMELY dirty are Dallas fans (not my Mom)... one having to do with my job. They KNOW I'm a diehard Fins fan and I'm thinking they are probably thinking about me when the two teams are playing. It throws salt in some very deep wounds to lose to those guys. My Mom just hit me at the wrong time... and she got a funny remark to show for it.

That's how Raider fans are with me. I've had random Raider fans come up to me and try to pick fights out of the blue. It's always if there team is losing. That adds extra hatred to an already division rival.

The Jests are going on vacation... courtesy of Jason Taylor and the Dolphins. Better start playing some Madden 12 if you want to make that SB prediction come true Rexy ;D
Thanks for the memories JT... glad you finished in here in the sun!
