I am completely sickened by the shooting at the Colorado movie theater. Saddened. Enraged. I saw a photo of a grieving family on the cover of L.A. Times. It captured so much emotion, it's haunting. Bought the paper to get more information on the shooting, only to find there was really no information. Just an absolutely unnecessary killing spree at the hands of a prissy kid who was having trouble in school.
I was at work yesterday. For my job, I go on routes with drivers from a trucking company and deliver groceries to 7-Elevens. I was in the break room with about 3 or 4 other guys waiting for our drivers to get their paperwork. The Dark Knight was playing on TV. A guy from my company walked in and said in a sarcastic, high pitched tone, "Ahh! Don't shoot me don't shoot me!", mocking the victims. Then followed up with "Only in Colorado would shit like that go down. In California we'd fuck him up". He left right then. Pissed me off greatly. What the hell would he had done differently? Chased the guy holding the automatic handgun? Fucking dipshit.

Human beings are suffering from that condition more and more as time goes on - the condition of letting all sorts of random nonsense flow from their mouths without ever thinking of how it affects other people or even themselves. Dude wouldn't have done anything different. The guy ambushed a dark theater where nobody knew it was coming... nobody was able to do anything.
I'm not much on an insanity plea for crimes... I kinda think you have to be lacking sanity to kill somebody in a premeditated way. That said I think this guy is the very definition of madness. He may be very smart and cunning but he is lacking a very integral part of his brain. I still think they should throw the book at him.

Same here. I have a hard time believing that with all the psychological treatment he'll receive if he gets the sanity plea, that afterward he'll see what he did in a completely different way. Just don't see that happening.

You are right. If he ever experiences remorse it will just hit him... no shrink is gonna get through to that fruit loop. And I hope he does find remorse... there is no worse punishment that realizing you did THAT... and then comprehending and caring what toll it took on those people. I'll not be holding my breath for it though... there's a better chance that Dwight Howard signs with the Bobcats.
