30 Days of Night
Man, possibly the best vampire film ever made. Still loving it five years later.

I love that movie One of my favorite settings is cold and ice... it's perfect for horror/scifi. This link is really helpful too... when I'm half asleep. I can add the minutes up instantly... but the word problem style throws me off sometimes.

I'd be up for a November extension... I didn't get to watch as many as I'd planned.

Pfff. Same here. I have so many I want to watch still. Would take the meaning away from the October Challenge, though. What I'll do is tally up the rest that I watched in October, then watch the ones I planned to watch and review them in this thread Cool beans.

Basket Case trilogy. I've been a fan of the first two for years. REALLY bizarre, and what's great is it was actually productive. Most movies that are bizarre like this usually turn it into a weird pile of goof. Basket Case is a major exception. I finally picked up the third one. The DVD was usually 40 bucks, but I guess they rereleased it and I got it for cheap. I wasn't expecting it to be very good at all, I heard terrible reviews. Saying it;s easily the worst of the series. But it's great. It may be the 3rd best, but I wouldn't call it "worst". Still very fun. One of my all time favorite horror franchises. I'm gonna make a top ten soon.
Paranormal Activity 4. The first one brought a breath of fresh air to the crappy horror genre of the 2000's. There were a few gems in that decade, like 30 Days of Night and Let the Right One In, but the 2000's didn't hold a candle to the 70's and 80's. I felt like Paranormal Activity would pave the way for great new ideas for horror movies, and better ways to scare the audience. Still waiting for it. Only got Sinister and Insidious so far. ;D All it really did was pave the way for a couple of okay paranormal, demonic possession movies and an equal amount of crapfests.
Anyway, part 4, if you compare it to the general horror film today, it is among the best, I'd say. But if you compare it to the original, you can see that the series is dwindling away. Definitely the worst for me, but I did still enjoy it.

PA is a movie that is soooooooooo hard to replicate. I understand them wanting to make money on some more... but I can't see them ever hitting the jackpot again. Once you've done that movie... everybody's seen what you have to offer.

Yep. I still enjoy the sequels, but it's going to be like almost every other horror franchise that no matter what you do, you're not going to beat the original.
