Well, Moustapha Akkad (spelling?) is dead so the future of the Halloween franchise is pretty much on hold.

Moustapha Akkad was killed on the 9th of November 2005,he was killed in a tragic terrorist attack in Amman Jordan.
On the 25th anniversary DVD of Halloween he said Michael Myers will never die as long as Akkad is still alive.His daughter, Rima Akkad Monla, was also killed in the terrorist bombing.
He is the only production participant from the first Halloween film to be credited in every subsequent Halloween sequel.
We will just have to see who wants to try and take over the mantle of this great man.
