According to Dark Horizons, the proposed Bruce Campbell-less remake of "Evil Dead" might be yesterday's news, today's canned project.

"I have this to say about it: there won't be one as far as I know. That's all I know", Ted Raimi, brother of Sam, the film's original director, said. "I mean there might be, there might be one but as far as I can tell there isn't. Nothing's going on with it at the moment".

The plan was for the cult horror/comedy to get the retool treatment from Raimi's own Ghost House Pictures. Original star Bruce Campbell wouldn't be involved - a new star would be taking over the role of chainsaw-yielding Ash.
