Anderson Silva Set to Retire

You heard it right. Anderson Silva, the pound for pound greatest fighter on the planet, is set to retire after his 6 fight contract is up with the UFC. that'll be around late 2009 or early 2010.
If you know me, you know that Anderson Silva is practically a hero of mine. Watching him fight is not only the most beautiful thing to watch, but it's an honor to be able to see what he can do. I've been interested in stand-up striking my whole life and I have never seen anyone with the abilities that Anderson Silva has. Watching him dismantle some of the best fighters in the business always leaves me in shock and amazement. Not only that, but he is the classiest guy you will probably ever see in fighting. After his fights, win or lose, he's always kind and courteous to the other fighter and his team. Always bows, shakes all their hands and praises the other fighters abilities.
This news came as more than shocking to me. It's a huge disappointment to know that your most admired fighter is hanging up the gloves.
