Lost cows or cow napped?

The other day, a neighbor who has 5 cows, got out. Well, it was easy to spot them as they wandered by the house and were rounded up and put back in their pasture. Well, this morning, the owner of the 5 cows said they got out. Other neighbors, including the owners, have spent all day looking for these 5 cows. How could anyone not see 'em? Not like we're looking for dogs or something. We're starting to think someone didn't turn 'em loose lastnight and loaded 'em up in a horse trailer and stole 'em. There's plenty of damn grass to graze on in the entire area. People falling on hard times and makes me wonder if someone would be brave enough to follow thru with it. I mean, all they'd have to do is drive 'em somewhere where's there's a barn, butcher 'em and sell the meat. These people were getting ready to butcher them next month too. There goes their food for the winter. Spend all Summer raising 'em and letting get bigger and then they vanish into thin air. I hope the cows show up soon. I feel for 'em.
