Hey guys! I've been hearing some rumors that the Super Bowl is going to be going pay per view this season. I remember hearing the talk about it last Super Bowl. Heard it the other day on one of the games, can't remember which one, that it will start with ppv's now. NFL got to get every little penny from the fans, I guess. Anyone else hearing this bull crap talk?

Miami - I'm probably going to regret picking Miami, but Jordan Gross is out for the year and Jonathan Stewart and Steve Smith are hurt and questionable and since I'm going to the game I'm going all out for the Fins!

I've heard conspiracy theories about the Super Bowl being PPV, but personally I think it can NEVER happen. Not to mention the fact that it would be just plain wrong... the NFL and the networks make millions of dollars for every few seconds of commercial time. A PPV would drastically reduce the viewers... I'd say by at least 85 percent since a lot of inner city folks don't even have cable or satellite. The NFL will never take that kind of a viewer loss especially with the money they would lose. But definitely don't worry about it this season any ways because NBC already has it contracted for this year.
BTW Jason, I don't know if you did it on purpose or not, but you didn't make a couple of the picks yet. I always look to see who everyone picks after I put mine up LOL...

Yeah, MIB, I did it on purpose. The Browns hadn't played yet, and I was basing my Cleveland-Detroit pick on how they played against the Ravens. I'm sure you know who I'm picking now...  San Francisco and Green Bay was just tough for me. But I think I'm taking the Pack. I don't see the NFL doing PPV, either. Though it does worry me quite a bit. That just wouldn't be fair! |
