Rarely will you see a staff opening, here, at H.M.F.C. This isn't necessarily a staff opening, but the opened Board Moderator position will likely lead to a Moderator spot. What I'm looking for is someone to manage the Rate This Film board. What Will Be Required From YouActivity: The sole reason for me opening this position is because I simply don't have the time to add tons of films (but when I do have time, I'm just lazy). The goal for this board is to have a wide selection of films to choose and review. It will require some time on your part, but I'm hoping to find someone who will enjoy this position enough to the point where time isn't a complete factor. HTML Coding Ability: You don't have to be an expert or veteran HTML coder, but basic knowledge on the subject is commendable. Poll Creation: For every topic, A poll must be created. Be sure that when the poll is created, there are ten options. 10, counting down to 1, and not the other way around. Film Title and Year of Release: This is the first step when typing up the message. Font size and capitalization is required, but an easy layout will be provided once the Board Moderator has been named. Cover Art: There are already dozens of films in the board, and in each topic, you'll see the art cover (usually of the DVD or VHS) of the film below it's name and year of release. I pick up the art covers from IMDb. Once the art cover is copied, you will need to host it onto the photobucket account that I will provide access to. Once hosted, be sure to edit the URL of the image. If you were to host, let's say, Dawn of the Dead, the end of the url should read "Dawn_Of_The_Dead.jpg". (Notice how I use capitals and underscores for every word. It helps for easy search.) Taglines and Plot Outlines: These are essential for each topic created for the films. The words: 'Tagline' and 'Plot Outline' must be capitalized and in bold. Taglines and Plot Outlines can be found on the film's IMDb page. If you'd like, you may create your own Plot Outline, but Taglines from the actual film are preferred when creating the film to rate. As you can see, I'm quite particular on the setup of the film reviews, so a few edits may occur, but don't let that worry you one bit. Capitalizing properly and the font size of the film title are a few examples of possible edits, but we'll dig deeper into that when the position is filled. Anyone can apply, even other lazy ass Murderators who don't do squat. This will be a first come, first serve position. What I'm truly looking for, is a member who will remain loyal to H.M.F.C. and work his or her way to higher Moderator status. Below your Member Group Name, the title "Rate This Film Moderator" will be added. You may apply here.

I'll do it on one condition... if you let me use my own image hosting site. I absolutely detest trying to use photobucket lol... I have a paid account and the images will be on there for eternity so you won't have to worry about that.
As for the rest, if you want me to do it I'll do it exactly like you have it already. I'm ridiculously O.C.D. so that shouldn't be a problem.
I would not mind merging myself into your board here since everyone but you have left me at my other 2 boards (including my 2 fellow admins). And I don't mean take it over or anything, just pretty much do most of my posting here to keep busy.
My qualifications are:
I can pretty much figure out anything on the HTML stuff that would be needed on a Proboard - on clear headed days anyway
I can make just about anything on Photoshop including animated gifs.
And lastly, unfortunately I have nothing but freakin time.
My only drawback would be that sometimes I get either sick from my meds or RA and get in a mood where I won't allow myself to go near any online discussions for awhile - I've lost too many friends that don't understand already and I'm not going to alienate my online buddies because of mood swings that are not really me... if that makes any sense.
So, let me know. I'd love to join the team.

Your image hosting site will not be a problem. Sounds like a plan, to me. I know what you mean about PhotoBucket. Once they "upgraded" their service, everything became more confusing and difficult. I love their new feature of organizing images into albums, but in order to do so, the image URL needs to change, and images all over this site, and others, will have broken links. All of my photobuckets have tons of images, so there's no point in trying to start organizing any of the new ones I host. As for merging yourself here, that'd be awesome. I'd love to see you around, more often. I've had that same problem, where I was the only person at my board for months at a time. Activity does die, at times. But, if you genuinely love your message board, I would recommend keeping it up and running. I've seen many message boards deleted and people regretting it. I could never delete this place. Too much time, effort and history between members. I'm not saying I think you'll delete it, but if you genuinely love your place like I love mine, it's good to go back and visit, once in a while. I also understand about mood swings. I've been having them, lately. Not so much mood swings, I just feel myself becoming a little more irritated with things than I normally would be. I think it's because the Broncos are choking Great to have you, MIB. I'll update your status and PM you some details.

Cool, I'm not deleting my board... it's still a big part of my life to be able to mess with it and add pictures and stuff. It was a lot of work and I'd never erase it. I still have my first board - A Far Away Place.
I still hope it will take off someday but I can't do it by myself and my help left. I'm the designer and content maker... I can't do the advertising and recruiting very well. I seem to make people happy when they do show up, but I've never been good at advertising. My sister and Black Cat could get people by the dozens, but they aren't around any.
Basically I just need somewhere to hang out right now where there are actually people to talk to.

More people have been coming here, lately. Which is great. I love seeing people coming in. Krueger comes by quite a bit, and Jasette, too. Sawfanatic is a new poster, and becoming an active one. I just hope it stays that way. And I didn't know you had another board!

Well, if you remember you and I actually met on MMM, the Horror board that Black Cat and I had. I did the layout, coding and graphics for that one too. There was one stretch where that board was so busy that even the both of us couldn't always keep up and that was fun. Then I made the Black Hole so we would have a board that was not limited to just Horror. My first Board that I did was called A Far Away Place, which started as a scifi/fantasy board. Carole, my sister helped me do that and we actually won some Proboard award for board of the month on that one. Carole left me and I decided to just concentrate on The Black Hole and MMM, but then Black Cat got a new job traveling everywhere and that left just me. I had a couple mods and regular posters, but everyone left for schooling and such. I'm still sort of sad about A Far Away Place, I had some outstanding ideas for that board if I just had somebody who would have helped me advertise and push posts some. There was even a girl from Utah that wrote an entire novel and posted there. I gave her the title of resident artist and hoped that we could entice more people to do all sorts of stuff as resident artists. But, oh well... here is the link to AFAP if you want to see what it looked like. qasrevenge.proboards.com/index.cgi?

I remember MMM, I was actually logged in yesterday to see how the place was doing. haha. I didn't know you were so involved with other places, too. That's incredible that you won a ProBoard award. I thought about entering one of those, but I didn't think I would win anything. I'll definitely check out AFAP!
Advertising is tricky. Sometimes, you can advertise everywhere and get, maybe, 3 pageviews. It's weird, and I've never even figured out how to advertise like a pro.

I know how to do it, but I'm not going to. I'm just not that social. The way Carole and Black Cat got people was by going all over other boards and getting all involved for a bit by posting. Then when they got friends they would bring them over. It worked because most of the time the quality of our boards were leagues ahead of where they came from. And most importantly we were very friendly and didn't have all sorts of posting rules.
I've done the whole advertise on Proboards and listing on the search engines and all that nonsense till I was blue in the face and I don't think I ever got one single person by doing that. I forget for sure though.
I've even tried to get people I know on Facebook to checkout the boards, but it always just goes like this. "Wow, you really made that yourself?" .... "Yes" and then they never look at it again.
It's all worth it though I guess. I met 4 or 5 really good friends that I couldn't have without the message boards.

I've done ths same thing. People think, "Wow! That is awesome! You really did that" and they completely forget it exists. I got Stacey into it BIG TIME for a while. She posted as "Mauvaise" for some time.
