If you haven't seen this movie, you might think it belongs in the science fiction category if you read the tag-line. Yes there are scifi elements, but this scared the crap out of me. It starts out in space, but the horror business quickly picks up and maybe it just struck a nerve with me somehow... but I consider this the creepiest, scariest film I ever watched. I give it a 7 just for the frights.

The most terrifying film for you only gets a 7? It makes me really want to check this one out, though!

When I first watched this I was pretty young. I wasn't looking to get scared for several days I thought it was going to be mostly scifi... it wasn't. There was something about it that just struck a chord in my nervous system at the time. I watched it again years later and couldn't really figure out what it was. It was still creepy the 2nd time... but not terrifying. Plus, I'm pretty stingy on my rating numbers... If ROTJ is a 10... then 7 is really good for this one

Haha. I know what you mean. 15 or 20 films will probably have a ten for me. Maybe.

I'm trying to think of a few I'd give 10's to, but there's not many. Last of the Mohicans, Star Wars, maybe Lethal Weapon 2, Back to the Future... and I'll have to try to think of more. 10 for any of those would only be on the condition I could give ROTJ an 11 ;D

So that's, by far, your favorite film? Return of the Jedi?

Yep, it's my favorite movie from my favorite genre. #1 on my list and the movie which I measure all others against. It's perfect to me, even the Ewoks. Everybody hates on the furry buggers but I even liked them... and most everyone else did too back when it was in the theaters. It only became fashionable to hate Ewoks like 20 years later ;D
