I consider these three types of horror icons to be the ones that started it all. Which are your favorite to watch?
My pick would have to be Werewolves, followed closely by Vampires. Zombies are definitely fun, too, but out of these three, I get the most enjoyment out of watching werewolf films.

I've got to go with vampires. I'm not into them like I used to be as they have been a bit overdone, but I've been a vamp fan since seeing Lost Boys in the theater as a kid. That movie made vampires seem like rockstars...actually cool, unlike the Twilight things. There is such a great range of vampire types and I like that too... bloodsuckers can range from the suave Dracula himself to the hardly human beasties in I Am Legend.
Werewolves are cool too, if the movie is done right. I've seen some pretty horribly done werewolves. The recent Wolfman remake and the Underworld lycans are pretty awesome.
Zombies, I used to hate them, but they are growing on me some now. They always just seemed so unrealistically stupid. After watching 28 Days Later and then Shaun of the Dead I started to tolerate them a bit better.

Shaun of the Dead is freakin bitchin'. Probably my favorite zombie movie. Actually, scratch that, that title goes to Re-Animator. As for Vampires: Let The Right One In (I prefer the 2010 remake, Let Me In, though both are good), Fright Night, 30 Days of Night, John Carpenter's Vampires, Once Bitten (With Jim Carrey ) are a few great Vampire flicks.

I like all those except I haven't seen Let the Right One In or Let Me In. I was debating earlier, I guess those things in I Am Legend are vampires... they could be zompires... or vambies... what do you think?

Zombomified Vampiros. I suppose they'd be classified as vampires, since they can't go out in sunlight. This spaced me, but did you like 30 Days of Night?

It was awesome!
I loved the whole movie, but I would have done the end different and gave it a twist where it was unclear what happened to the main character as if he possibly became... well you know. But the real end wasn't bad.
Zombomified Vampiros... sounds like an 80's wrestling tag team. ;D

I got Vampiros from that wrestler in WCW, Vampiro. 30 Days of Night is probably my all time favorite vampire flick. When I saw that movie poster at the movie theater months before it was released, I was in awe. I almost had to be pulled away from it. I had never seen a movie poster that caught my eye the way that film did. And the moment that vampire caught up to the truck and jumped on the roof of the cab, I got chills. Amazing vampire film. Let the Right One In was made in Sweden, so you'd either need to watch it with subtitles, dubbing, or learn Swedish. I watched it in subtitles. I can't stand bad dubbing with serious films like that, it takes away from the performances of the actors. But as far as this film goes, it was very well done. I really enjoyed it, and it inspired me to go out and see the remake the next day. The director of the American version, Let Me In, said he remade thie film so soon (Let the Right One In was released in 2008) because it was so well done, it needed to be seen by a wider audience. There weren't many differences in the remake, but I preferred the subtle differences of the remake to the original. Both excellent films, though. And I recommend them.

Oh yeah, I know what movie you are talking about now. I read about how the director of the newer one was a big fan of the first, but the original guy was a bit miffed at them remaking his film so quickly. I've been wanting to see them - I just forgot the names - something I do regularly And as for 30 Days of Night - those vampires were too cool. The setting was amazing and the pacing was constantly tense. I'm going to have to pick that up on blu-ray... along with 28 Days Later.

They released 30 Days of Night: Dark Days. The sequel to the first, which received a terrible rating. I've been a bit hesitant to pick it up, because the original characters aren't even in it. But, I will definitely buy it some time. As for blu ray, I'm staying away from that.

I love me some blu-ray... but the old DVD's look really good on an HDTV played on a blu-ray player. That's how I watch most of my movies now, but every once and awhile I'll pick up a favorite on blu.
