I wavered a bit on whether to give this a 9 or 10. My score would be closer to 9.5, but it's just a brilliant movie so I'll round up to 10.
I don't believe a human being can achieve perfection, it's something we should strive for but never reach... Anthony Hopkins delivers a performance that is as close to perfect as you will ever see in a film. His believability combined with the vulnerable and intelligent work by Jodie Foster gives Silence of the Lambs a slicing, creepy edge that's unforgettable.

One of my favorite movies ever. And what's amazing about Hopkins' performance is he was only in the film for about 15 minutes. But it feels like he is the star of the show. One of the best, if not the best performance I've ever seen.

10. For sure. Best thriller ever made. The Hopkins / Foster dynamic is one of the best ever put to the silver screen. This film is flawless.
The person who wrote the tagline should have done their homework though. Lecter is a psychopath, not psychotic. A psychotic person is crazy, out of touch with reality, doesn't know the difference between right and wrong. A psychopath knows the difference, but doesn't give a fuck. That's Lecter.

I always thought the tagline was far too out of place. Just doesn't feel like a proper tagline for this film, at all. Not even the psychotic line. It's just dull. I agree, too. Best thriller ever. My 5th favorite film ever made.

People who write the taglines or plot sum-ups on the back of the DVD case need to see the goddamn movie first. One that comes to mind as not having seen the movie (or at least not having understood it) is the one for Romper Stomper. "...shows what can happen when angry young working class white youth blame their woes on immigrants..." or something like that. Uh, NO. That's not what it's about. It's a love story, about a destructive love-triangle among Hando, Gabrielle and Davey. Fuck's sake.

Haha. Yep. I don't even bother reading the backs of DVDs, anymore. There's no point. It's either baseless nonsense, or it'll give away the entire plot twist. The element of surprise is one of the best things about certain films.

Haha. Yep. I don't even bother reading the backs of DVDs, anymore. There's no point. It's either baseless nonsense, or it'll give away the entire plot twist. The element of surprise is one of the best things about certain films. One film I am so glad that has been preserved in its mystery, even after nearly 20 years, is Se7en. I've never seen a copy of the DVD case that lists the name of the actor who plays the killer. (See? Even I'm not giving it away...on the off chance that someone reading this hasn't seen it). I always thought it was cool that the actor I'm referring to made sure his name did not appear in the opening credits or in the trailers, just to preserve the mystery of the movie. And anyone whose seen it knows that it has one of the best twist endings ever. BUT...it ALMOST didn't happen that way... www.cracked.com/article_19918_6-terrible-decisions-that-gave-us-great-movie-moments.html Scroll down to #4. WARNING: SPOILERS
