I cannot even begin to explain the respect I've got for Jim Henson. The man was an artist in every sense of the word. The Muppet Movie may be the pinnacle of his legendary career. The artistry and pacing of the film is second to none and the characters, from their voices to their costumes, are magical. The music, highlighted by the opening "Rainbow Connection", makes the whole adventure even better. Henson's Muppets don't just break the "fourth wall" they break down any barriers keeping puppets from taking the lead in major motion pictures. 9.5

I saw this movie as a very young kid, and don't remember much from it. Jason Segel really pays his respects to Jim Henson in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

I saw that movie but I missed... or forgot the Jim Henson reference. What did he do?

He played the Muppet theme song while depressed in his apartment. Also, the Dracula musical thing was an actual dream of his that he had, and Henson inspired him to do the show with puppets. The Henson company actually made his puppets for the movie.

That's pretty cool. I'm excited for the new Muppet movie... I'm thinking he'll do a good job at it.
Did you see him in I Love You Man? I didn't think a whole lot of the movie but he was hilarious in it.

Yeah, the movie wasn't too bad. And he stole the show, I think. He was hilarious.

That scene where they met at the open house and he predicted that guy's fart had me and Marii laughing so hard we cried.

I was surprised at how funny it was when I saw it in the actual movie, rather than in the movie trailer. They showed the movie trailer 1,000 times, and it was a very funny moment, but when I saw it in theaters, I guess it was the atmosphere of the film, it just had me rolling.
"Totally, and it smells like fart."
