Ohhh, yes. I definitely have a ton of listening to do, and I agree about George Jones' voice. That song is probably the best vocal performance in country music. I think he's got the best voice I've ever heard in country music. Conway Twitty is up there, too. He Stopped Loving Her Today is actually one of my Dad's favorite country songs, too. It might actually be his favorite, I'm not too sure.

I really like Johnny Horton. There's no way he was going to miss this list. And, of course, Hank is all over the place.

Well, you did a good list. I'll let the little cameos by the hot chicks and Brooks n Dunn go because there's nothing wrong with changing it up a bit in a list to get people talking... which is what lists are always gonna be: Something to make people want to make an even better list. Plus I got to hear some good tunes tonight that improved my mood... so it was fun.

I'll make my list look a little better adding links, pictures and commentary later. I just wanted to get it up so we could look at them tonight and that would have taken me hours... I get so involved in stuff like that.

A couple of those were sentimental favorites. Like Hard Workin' Man, by Brooks & Dunn. I listened to that with Dad growing up. Unchained Melody, by Leann Rimes, made the list because of her vocal performance. Not that she performed better than the Righteous Brothers, but wow. She definitely hit the notes beautifully.

And I remember watching that country music video of Pancho and Lefty as a young kid every morning when my parents would put it on CMT every morning and watch top 20 countdowns.

Well, that's what I'm talking about... sentimental favorites. That's what Pancho and Lefty is to me. Not to say it isn't up there as a classic, but I'm sure it makes few number one spots on lists. Dang it, it was my list and it's my favorite country song of all time then it's going number one!

It wouldn't be much fun to make lists based of completely what other people thought anyway. I take some of that into play, but I have to like the songs or they just aren't going on there.

Don't Take The Girl was a favorite growing up as a kid. One of the saddest songs I'd ever heard when I first heard it. Loved the music video, as well, as a kid.

Saddest song ever probably goes to He Stopped Loving Her Today. Oh, what a song, and it was sung from the heart. You can just hear it. Same with Tammy Wynette's D-I-V-O-R-C-E. Great vocal performances made them the emotional songs they are. Loretta Lynn came very close with quite a few songs...

Don't Come Home A-Drinkin', One's On The Way, Coal Miner's Daughter And You Ain't Woman Enough are all just awesome, to me. And El Paso came pretty darn close, too. ;D

El Paso and Big Iron are both awesome. I like the lyrics better for Big Iron, but El Paso has that legendary guitar.
