I just watched this today. I got it on blu ray a while back and I've been saving it for a sick day when I needed something upbeat. Today was the day. It was actually a whole lot better than I expected... from the music to the sizzling effects. (Awesome cutting edge-retro effects complete with an 8-bit rendition of the Universal jingle in the opening credits.
It has a style that the director describes as a musical where the characters don't break into songs... instead fights break out. It works really well and I'll give it an 8.9

I heard this was pretty bad, so my interest in seeing it dimmed out, over time. Good to see you like it, though. We've been getting movie channels for free on Dish Network and they tend to show movies from this time frame. I'll check and see if it's showing any time soon. Is it anything like Youth in Revolt? I loved that one.

I didn't see that one. Scott Pilgrim has a higher than average IMDB score... I think nearly 8... let me check... yep 7.8
It's very stylized towards retro video games and kung fu. It was like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon for NES/SEGA lovers. So, if that sounds interesting you might like it. It was right up my alley kind of strange, so it struck just the right nerve with me. I can see how some people probably hated it though. I can't fault them for that because it's definitely a niche movie.

David was looking at your sig picture yesterday. I asked him what he thought and he just laughed at it. Kids are so different today. That would have scared me to death at that age.

Hahaha. Me, too, probably. It is a goofy, fun movie.
