I do want to watch the original, but I have motion sickness and when I try to read subtitles I get nauseous. Is there a version dubbed in English?

Yeah you can dub it, but the voice actors who do the english voices are horrible.

That's generally the reason I stick to subtitles. You can at least get a feel for the acting and emotion of the film.  |

I don't have any choice in that... within five minutes I'm so sick I have to take motion sickness pills and can't watch anymore. No subtitles for me. I like hearing people speak in other languages too... so that sucks.
And Andi, you are right about the CGI in the remake... I think it's not that it's too much as much as it is not very good though. I just try to look over that part because they had such a limited budget for that film. It wasn't too bad that it hurt the film for me since the key to the story was the characters and relationships and it didn't depend much on the effects.

Cars and boats do the trick pretty well too. But anything where I have to continually change my focus back and forth will get me sick fast. Subtitles is one of the worst things. Reading something while riding in a car is the worst of all... or being in the back seat.
I got to close to the front in an IMAX once and it made me sick. I'm sure that Cloverfield would have got me but I took the pill before I went in and I was OK.

I've never gotten motion sickness.  At least you can take a pill and it'll be fine. I'm sure it's still an annoying burden. |
