I thought it was a brilliant introduction. Welcome! What are some of your favorite horror films?

Really? All my intros on forums are fail xD
Into a lot of older horror movies, like The Shining, The Exorcist, Pet Sematary, Halloween. More into psychological than gore too.

Glad to have you aboard. How'd you find us? You and I will get along quite nicely. I'm probably mostly fond of a lot of the older stuff, too, including all the ones you mentioned. I also love good cheesy horror like Jack Frost, Ice Cream Man, Motel Hell and so on.

Google
And awesome, I probably only like one or two horror movies that are recent, and I'd rather watch originals than remakes. I love comedy horror too, like Gremlins.

I've been appreciating some recent horror films. I enjoyed the Pirahna remake and Insidious in particular. About 98% of the time, I prefer originals to remakes.
Gremlins was great. I need to pop that one in again, soon. It's been too long.

Insidious was amazing, especially near the beginning with the baby monitor. I've always considered Gremlins more of a comedy, and Gizmo is adorable :D
I loved Paranormal Activy 2 though, and the first one was pretty good. And yeah, a lot of the time the original is better. The only movie I've ever seen where the remake was better than the original was The Fly.

Greetings Andi! Glad to have you around... it's been slow here lately but there are some good people at this board... and me I like the psychological horror films a lot too. I'm also into the science fiction and scifi horror. Make sure you explore the whole board if you have time. Jason has put a lot of work into it. We've both done a ton of work on the Rate this Film section and it has a huge amount of info and stuff to do. We'd love to get your ratings on any of the movies you've seen.

As far as remakes being better than the original, the one that comes to mind first is My Bloody Valentine. I thought that one was just a bit better. I liked Let Me In a bit better than Let The Right One In, not because it was in English, but because the subtle differences improved the film even more, in my opinion. As far as Rate This Film goes, that was about 95% MIB. Not I.

Let Me In had too much CGI, in some scenes, you can tell it's fake, and I still don't understand why they changed the main character's names. Let The Right One In was more subtle. The plot-line was pretty much the same for both movies anyways, but the acting in the original was a lot better than the remake.
