The Carolina Panthers training camp was a big deal this year. I didn't realize what an impact Cam Newton would make on attendance but it was ridiculous! There were tons more people. I got a look at the new additions: TE Greg Olsen - an awesome receiving TE that I've been hoping would come to Miami or Carolina since he was drafted. On the other side of him is also Jeremy Shockey. They also picked up Legedu Naanee from the Chargers. There were lots of rookies to check out along with a whole new coaching staff and it wasn't as hot this year so that made it much more tolerable. Well enough rambling from me here's the pictures: As always check out this link for the whole gallery: imageevent.com/afap/photographix/sports/carolinapantherstrainingcamp2011Cam Newton DeAngelo Williams Jon Beason Jeremy Shockey Armanti Edwards Jimmy Clausen DeAngelo's Calves - Marii said he looked like a little bull! The best backfield in the league! Some action shots of Cam and others: Brandon LaFell Jonathan Stewart Jeremy Shockey Jimmy Clausen - One of my favorite shots this year Mike Goodson - Another of my favorites And finally, I made my first appearance on Sports Center... luckily for Rodger Goodell I was there so he could ride my coatails and get on camera also. This was the front page story on the Panthers official website... check out the redneck with the UNC hat and camera ;D - Goodell was the first to sign my football this year

Sweet freakin' pics! I also dig the one of Clausen throwing under pressure. I thought it was kinda funny how your Dolphins coach had a say in your ESPN debut, as well. That is super neat, though. I'm gonna make it my life's goal to go to a home game of all my beloved Colorado sports teams. Truthfully, I agree with Sparano about that situation. Why would you boo your quarterback and chant another's name who is playing for a completely different ball club? I hope the Broncos fans don't boo Orton. That would make me sick, as well. Both our teams are in rebuild mode, but I can't help but have faith that Denver will possibly make a playoff appearance.

Thanks...
I thought the same thing about Sparano being in the screen shot of SC with me. And I agree also with his statement, Dolphins fans are quite a few degrees worse than Panthers fans. All fans have the stupid among their ranks, but some Miami - so called "fans" - really annoy me. Even if Henne completely fails it's not like he's doing it on purpose.
Most Panthers fans wanted Jake Delhomme out (including me) of the starting role, but there was never one boo or jeer at him in training camp.

The NFL Analysts are expecting Denver fans to boo Orton because of his "I'm not here to please the fans" statement, or something along those lines. Truth is, I agree with Orton. At least the way he really said it. That quote I posted isn't very accurate. I just hope he isn't booed on Monday night. I guess we'll find out. Denver fans are usually VERY good about these kinds of things.

Anyone that would boo Orton with the way he is playing should just be disregarded

I think that was four or five drunk idiots I like Orton, but I still give Henne a chance at having a stronger upside. We should find out this year with a healthy O-line and the addition of Reggie Bush along with a new OC that plans to open it up.

Speaking of Bush leaving the Saints, I was THRILLED to hear Darren Sproles went to them. Squirrely little punk. The NFL Network made it sound like everyone was chanting Orton's name. I can also see the utter bias against Tebow with some of them. Merrill Hoge, obviously. Rich Eisen did it, too, but not to the extent of Hoge. I don't get why this guy is so disliked...

Yeah, the Miami fans are pretty ugly sometimes... but not all of them were chanting Orton... and a lot of the faithful on the Fins message boards let them know it wasn't cool - even the ones who really unhappy. I wanted Jay Fiedler gone for a while myself, but I never would have booed him or wished him bad... he was our QB and I pulled for him. Henne hasn't had half the chance they gave Jay.
My opinion on the hate for Tebow is that he's too clean and good for this messed up society. He has done nothing but succeed (even in the NFL games). People just don't understand his attitude or his faith.
