I've heard of something called "skin-walkers," which I believe is a Native American variant of shape-shifting... Yeah, that sounds kinda familiar. I think some versions of the Wendigo legend are about men becoming beasts.

what is ginger snaps.candy killer movie? Ha ha! Sounds like it, eh? No, it's a movie about two high school girls who are friends, kinda social outcasts, and one of them gets bitten by a werewolf. (Her name is Ginger). The director uses the changing process as kind of a metaphor for puberty; Ginger's personality changes, from timid geek into in-your-face party girl. Oh, and of course she turns into a werewolf and kicks the asses of lots of people who used to make fun of her. I think they made a sequel, but I don't know anything about it. There are two sequels. Neither are up to par with the original, in my opinion.

Very nice. Not exactly common knowledge among even the most avid werewolf movie fans.

Well werewolf lore is something of a passion of mine. Some 10 years ago I started compiling a book, something of a paranormal/occult collection of metaphysical shapeshifting in relation to its origins inpaleo-shamanism through the middle ages; its developement and eventual devolution and demonization at the end of which you have the popular werewolf of Hollywood.
