I'm surprised there wasn't a thread for this already, since we all like violence so much. Anyway, talk about your favorite fighting games here.
I'm a Street Fighter guy. I loved SF II and spent quite a few quarters back in the early 90's in arcades of varying reputations playing it and its subsequent versions. (Anyone here old enough to remember arcades? I don't mean the ones inside mega-movie theaters that you put tokens in; I mean real arcades, with video games and pinball and maybe a pool table...some of the games actually had ashtrays attached to the side and the air was thick with cigarette smoke and foul language. Ah, the memories...)
Anyway, I have an Xbox and and Xbox 360 now, and I like to play SF III and Super SF IV on them respectively.
Apparently, there is an arcade version of SF IV out now, and they've put 4 "new" characters into it. I say "new" because two of them are just modified versions of characters already in SF IV; specifically, Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma. They also threw in Yun and Yang from SF III.
That's lame. Yun and Yang were not awesome to start off with, and they are too similar anyway. Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma, well...as I said, it seems lazy of the game producers to put them in.
If I had my way, I'd cut all 4 of them and put in the following characters from SF III: Third Strike - Oro, (the old guy who fought with one arm), Q (the guy in the trench coat, hat, and metal mask), Sean, (Ken's apprentice with the yellow gi), and Hugo, (the huge wrestler guy who was based on Andore from Final Fight). They're all different from each other and they'd make great rivals for some characters in SF IV, i.e. Oro vs Gen, Q vs Juri, Sean vs Ken, and Hugo vs Zangief. Think about how awesome any of those battles would be.
Also, who is/are your favorite characters to use?. For me, it breaks down like this:
SF III: Third Strike
Oro
Q
Hugo
Akuma
Dudley
Super SF IV
Gen
Bison
Sagat
Fei Long
El Fuerte (yeah, yeah, I know his back-story is lame but his moves are cool and not that hard to do).
