I didn't mean to sound like a know it all in that rant... I just get excited sometimes. All that is just my opinion and that's all the credit I give it. It's just fun to yack about.
You can pretty much only judge what you got to see. I saw Dr. J about like you are talking of Jordan, but I loved what I saw. I wish you could have watched MJ his whole career like I did. I've really never seen anything like him and I don't expect to ever again... although I'll keep hoping.
I guess the closest dude to him in talent, attitude, game knowledge and determination is Peyton Manning. It's not quite the same because it is so much harder for one football player to affect a game than one basketball guy.
I'm so proud of my Spurs. They got over the hump they hit last year and have kept up the momentum. I'm loving the Pacers success too, but I'm still not sure they can knock off the Heat. I just wish they'd let Hansbrough play more.

Well, I will say you definitely are more knowledgeable in basketball than I am. So your opinion should probably be more valued than mine. So, don't hold back because I can't rant about history like that. I can only complain about the refs, at the moment. I have seen a lot of his past games, though. Jordan's. So, in a way, I kind of did get to see him in his prime, but I never got to see him evolve as a player. Which is the only thing that bums me out. Manning has got to be one of the smartest athletes ever. No athlete is lacking as much physical strength as Manning, but has the powerhouse effect that he does on the football field.

Well... Congrats to the Heat. Miami as a team impressed me greatly. I had no idea they had that in them. Bosh, Wade, Battier and the bench held strong and stayed with the Spurs long enough to wear them out. Well played. James definitely did not live up to his hype. Don't get me wrong - he contributed, but for me this ends the Jordan comparison. Others may say what they want, but Mike never once allowed a Finals game seven and never even came close to struggling like LeBron did - the debate was over when the Spurs left him open on purpose for the entire series. That is something inconceivable for MJ. Mad props to my Spurs! I won't cry about this loss. We have 4 trophies and made these Finals one of the greatest ever. And we can hold our head high as a bit of luck and a few seconds were the only things in between Duncan and his 5th ring. Don't count us out next year!

I am just glad Duncan already has a fist full of rings. He is one of my favorite players ever.
I have really mixed feeling about this Nuggets offseason. We lose Iggy. Nuggets fans are split on it. Some are thrilled his 14 ppg are gone. Others are devastated because we lost probably the best defender in the game. I'm kind of a combination of both.
He was a bad scorer, but he probably prevented more points in a game than he did scoring. Which is still huge. He was never out go-to-guy for scoring, anyway. We have Lawson, Gallinari, Chandler and Faried for that. What I am glad to know is we won't be paying him 50 million for a new contract. We just can't afford that, right now. We acquired J.J. Hickson, and I am excited about him, Randy Foye, too. We need a consistent three point shooter.
We seem to be doing okay player-wise, but we lost coach and executive of the year winners George Karl and Masai Ujiri. That is almost as devastating of a blow as you can get, but we did acquire Bryan Shaw, who I think will excel. I am now just concerned with how the coaching is going to play out, and how we're going to fill the hole in our defense.

You guys will be O.K. Iggy was a fill in and never was going to stay I don't think. Your biggest loss is Karl... that one shocked me.
Hickson is great pick-up. He's a former N.C. State guy so I'm familiar with him and always hoped he'd end up on one of my favorites. I can handle him playing for you.
I'm loving Faried too... might be a big breakout year from him.

I felt the main reason we've been so great over the years was solely because of Karl. Especially after the Anthony years. When have you ever seen a team with no superstar excel year after year? Pretty rare.

Ooh. Speaking of that, what do you think about them getting their name and logo back? Hornets

Lol... you mean after I bought hats and shirts with Bobcats on them I guess it's kind of cool. I feel like I can pull for the Pelicans now (if they ever draft any of my favorite players) without being disloyal. That old owner is gone and they don't have our name. I really went all out and took on the original Hornets as my favorite team... so I can embrace the thing coming full circle. The most important part is them actually winning.

And a Bobcat miniball. So you're a Pelican fan now, eh?
