Survival Tips for Slasher Movie Characters

I'm sure by now we've all noticed that certain behaviours lead to certain death in slasher movies, and a lot of monster movies too.

List some you think that characters ought to follow to survive.

Here are some I thought of:

-Don't laugh and joke around. Stay serious. Once you start joking around, you're gonna get killed.

-A cat-jumping-out fake scare is a precursor to the real thing. Run.

-Get rid of the overly-emotional, liability character. You know the one I mean. The one who whines and says, "I can't do this, I can't do this!". Fine. Don't do it. That person (usually a chick) will end up getting killed and getting other people killed too.

-Don't go and see what made that noise. Just stay put. Stay with the group.

-When you think he / she / it has given up and gone away, it hasn't. It's just waiting for you to drop your guard.

-If the power goes out, don't go see why. Just stay put. You won't come back.

-Don't drop the weapon. This is a big one, especially for chicks for some reason. When you nail the killer / monster with whatever weapon you have, KEEP HOLD OF IT. The killer / monster probably isn't dead yet. Make sure.

-Don't have sex. Just don't. Seriously. It's not worth it.

You pretty much covered it all... I can only think of a couple to add:

Don't be annoying, a bigot, hateful etc... usually the most gruesome fates are saved for that type.

Don't be a black guy. Like LL Cool J said in Deep Blue Sea - "Brothers never make out of situations like this."


I guess I'm glad I'm not a slasher movie character... that very last one you mentioned would do me in... seeing as how I'm married to a hot Mexican chick ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ha ha! I think married couples have a higher chance of surviving...it's pre-marital or extra-marital sex that will seal your doom.

As far as being a black guy goes...yeah. In fact, being an adult male of any race, you're much more likely to die. Chicks and little kids do much better.
