Supernatural The Anime Series - any thoughts on it

Has anyone here watched the Anime series of Supernatural? It's coming to DVD (in the UK) at the end of May and I'm very tempted to get it but haven't really watched any Supernatural before. Based on some research, including a review on the Amazon UK listing, it seems as though it is the first two seasons of the show with some twists.

Any thoughts on it, including if it's accessible to a novice of the franchise, would be much appreciated.

Supernatural (the actual show) is possibly my all time favorite television show. I've loved horror since I was a kid, and the fact that these guys are hunting demons makes it interesting enough. Throw in bitchin' cars, phenomenal music I thought only I listened to and some great storylines and you have a show that was pretty much made for me.

Never cared for anything anime. I won't be picking up the cartoon on DVD, but I highly, highly recommend getting the actual show, and not some cheap knockoff.
