Heavy RainDifficulty Storyline Gameplay Longevity Creativity Weren't expecting something new, were ya?! Got a PS3 about two years ago. It's mostly served as a blu-ray player, but I have dabbled in some PS3 exclusives, and Heavy Rain was an absolute gem. Heard great things and picked this sucker up about a year ago, beat it around the beginning of this year. The gameplay threw me off a bit, as I was expecting there to be a lot of running, fighting, shooting, and so on. The gameplay mostly involved walking around, getting involved with the thoughts of whichever character you're controlling at that moment and accomplishing things the game sets out for you. What I loved was the overall story. More than likely the best story of any game I've ever played. You're essentially navigating your own way through a beautifully written movie, improved tenfold for the simple fact that you get to be more in touch and empathetic with these characters because you are literally in control of how they evolve in the story. It's the perfect game to play along with a wife or girlfriend who isn't much into playing video games. The story completely lures you in. The game is a dramatic crime-thriller, revolving around the mystery of The Origami Killer. There are four main playable characters in the game, none of whom are affiliated with each other, and each time you go through a player-switch, it is essentially the beginning of a new chapter to the story. You will come back to these characters multiple times as the game progresses, getting more and more involved with each of the characters as they all draw closer and closer to each other while they pursue the same goal: Solving the mystery of The Origami Killer. One of the rare games (possibly only game) that I'd recommend to any human being alive. It was the perfect game for a guy like me, who is a novice with the newer generations of gaming. I was able to progress through the game with relative ease while I enjoyed the unraveling of the plot. This was certainly a special one and one I'll never forget. Overall Satisfaction

Awesome! This is one of those games I watched in development and had on my to play list for a long time. Somehow it slipped through the cracks and I never played it. That happens every once and awhile when I have so many games on my radar. I remember being super excited about it.
I will have to pick it up and do it now... I'm glad you reminded me about it and that you liked it.
This is the type of game I'm probably the most into now at my age - role playing RPG's... anything from silly stuff like Pokemon to Zelda, Skyrim etc... I'm in the middle of the Witcher 3 at the moment but most of them I play on my handhelds (Vita and 3DS). I remember Heavy Rain was lighter on the action and more into the story and ambiance.
Jason, do you have your PS3 hooked to the internet? If so we should play something online together sometime... whether it be just a simple fighting game like MK or even Madden or basketball. It is easy to connect and playing online with Playstation is free.

Heavy Rain is definitely worth picking up. Great story, loaded with emotion. Hits you right in the feels! Yeah, I have my PS3 hooked up to the internet. I have NBA 2k9, 2k10 and 2k13. I purposely aimed for those ones because those were the seasons when the Nuggets were among the top teams in the league and still had George Karl.

Add me if you want to, if not no big deal... I'm not a huge fan of playing online myself, but it can be fun with friends.
