Conker's Bad Fur DayDifficulty Storyline Gameplay Longevity Creativity This game plays very similarly to Banjo-Kazooie, although a good deal easier and a lot more raunchier with their humor. You won't find another game like Conker's Bad Fur Day, and it's tragic. It is easily among the funnest games I've ever played. The game's difficulty is fairly easy. There are a few challenging scenarios that I was stuck at for a while, but I got through the game without much of a problem. The storyline is so ridiculous, that you just have to laugh at it. The gameplay is not quite as chiseled as the more popular Super Mario 64 or Banjo-Kazooie, but it is very versatile in its scenarios that the way you play it changes throughout the course of the game. It deserves a high rating for that. The creativity is great in many ways. There are many bosses that I never would have even began to fathom, let alone have the pleasure of playing against in this game. Never have I seen a video game based on nothing but itself make so many hilarious references to other games and movies. It only enhanced my enjoyment of the game even more than it already had. Upon completing the game, it is evident that difficulty was not the biggest priority when this game was constructed. This game may be the most disgusting, raunchiest, most hilarious profanity-filled game that I have ever played, and I absolutely loved every moment of it. Overall Satisfaction

I'll be rocking some more. I'll try to get one or two done this weekend. I barely played Conker for the first time in March of this year. It immediately skyrocketed into my top ten of all time (#8). You know how it is with new games/movies. Feels like the best thing in the world until you give it time to set in. Then it drops down a bit. this one hasn't at all. In fact, I'm starting to feel the #8 spot isn't high enough. That's how fun the game was for me. Two things: 1) If you ever decide to pick this game up (get the 64 version, not the XBox version), be prepared to pay the price of a brand new game from today's era. Conker is a rare piece, so it's high in value. 2) This game is crude and offensive. I'm not sure if David would be quite ready to play this one yet, but that is your call. I just recommend playing it first before letting him dive into it.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's RequiemDifficulty Storyline Gameplay Longevity Creativity The Resident Evil Series is my favorite video game series. I completed some of them (again) a couple of years ago. Still affected by the horror nature of the series, I sought out to find some other terrifying video games. I discovered Eternal Darkness, and after about a year of mulling over whether or not I should get it, I finally caved and picked it up. I just completed the game only a few weeks ago. It wasn't terribly difficult, but it was challenging having to memorize a lot of the spells that you acquire in the game. There were a few scenarios that had me scratching my head a bit, but I got through them and had a good time. The storyline is borderline brilliant. It begins with Alexandra Roivas (you, the player) in an introduction scene receiving a phone call notifying her of her Grandfather's death at his mansion. As the scene moves forward, we only learn that it was very violent and mysterious, and Alexandra refuses to leave until she discovers how this happened. Then gameplay begins. As you wander around the mansion, you'll discover the Tome of Eternal Darkness. The story skyrockets from there and takes you on a fun ride to the end. It handles very much like the older Resident Evil games, too. So I was pretty much already familiar with the controls. It isn't the longest game out there, but you will hit a few bumps in the road and get stuck at a few places that make the game take a bit longer. The last thing, and probably the most important tip you should take with you if you ever decide to play this game, is it screws with your head. This is where the creativity stars come in. There is a thing called "the sanity meter", and if you let it get too low, the game will not only confuse the hell out of your character, but will also leave you scratching your head plenty of times, too. I had a lot of fun with this one. And although its gameplay is a near duplicate of the older Resident Evil games, it has its own personality and provides a very fun and different gaming experience that any fan of gaming should appreciate. Overall Satisfaction

We had this one on Gamecube when I lived and worked up at the Mt. Mitchell Restaurant. It was a great place for horror movies and scary games... as we (the park staff) were the only people for many miles after dark up on a lonely mountain - The Shining style.
I never cared much for the old school R.E. gameplay, but the story and setting of this game was top notch. Do you remember how the little bugs would even realistically crawl across the TV screen?

I actually never got that sanity effect when I played it, unfortunately. Either that, or I just flat out missed it. The detail and strength of the story was pretty incredible. I wasn't expecting such an unpopular game to have as many great traits as it did. That sounds like a really fun gaming atmosphere you played the game at. I would've had a blast doing that.
