And Jason, your Dad was right. That's what I'm saying, Elway had more success than Dan and Brees and Favre etc... but he never had a chance at those high stats with Denver's RB culture. I'd definitely take a year like that for Marino in trade for the records that are gone now anyways - because of those QBs you are talking about now a days.
Talking of the early days Marino and Shula argued all the time about running the ball. Shula was a classic 3 yards and cloud of dust guy. Marino just changed the plays where Elway didn't. I'm pretty sure Dan regrets some of that now and wishes he'd listened more in the early days because coaches just gave up on the running game. Even Jimmy Johnson stopped trying real quick and announced he was going back to the "candy store" (Dan).
