I'm just not feeling the Chiefs... I don't think they beat Bills, Bengals, Jags, Chargers or possibly even Steelers in a playoff game. I feel same way about Philly in NFC... and I know I'm Clemson biased, but Jags are dangerous... probably don't go to SB... but, can knock out a contender. But... this year is so strange it may wind up Ravens vs Giants or some shite. And SF has peaked at right time. I will pull for them against my better judgment as I love McCaffery and Kittle. But... Never been 49er fan... in fact hated them in 80s and 90s... Montana was our Brady back then. Marino and Elway were cleary better qbs... but we all had to listen to Montana Goat crap... as he had top 5 defense plus Rice, Taylor and Craig and all pro o-line his entire career. Now, same thing with Brady... longevity is the only thing he's the goat at... and I'll give him that. But, he's had HOF defenders and offensive line plus pro bowl skill players every year. I'll always stand by Marino never even having one single 1000 yard rusher. Dan had one HOF offensive guy in Richmond Webb LT... he is the Barry Sanders of qbs lol Oh... and the heart injury... wow, praying for that kid. I fear the Chiefs. It's the same crap with New England where they don't seem to be as dominant as they appear to be but still somehow win every game. The Chiefs defense isn't world class and I'm hoping that's how they get beat in the playoffs. I'm old enough to remember the Marino and Elway era but I only caught the tail end of Montana. I don't like to say he's overrated but from the stuff I've seen in the highlights and old game replays it really feels like they were the original system offense like the Patriots of the 2000s. And yeah, the salary cap had to be implemented because the NFC teams (especially San Francisco) were heavily talented. As far as the Jags, I think Doug Pederson is probably responsible for turning that franchise around. All of a sudden everything is clicking. They went from the most laughable team in football to one of the scariest in less than two years. It's amazing how good or bad coaching can dictate what happens to a franchise. Look at Denver right now. Lol Looks like Damar Hamlin got bit with commotio cordis. Basically a one in a million chance of getting hit in the chest during a heart rhythm cycle that completely disrupts your cardiovascular system. If you don't receive oxygen within a minute or two you're almost guaranteed to die from it. Damar got CPR instantly and is already breathing on his own and video chatting with teammates. For a couple hours that night I was awaiting the announcement that he passed away. So cool to see him emerge out of that. Might even play football again. Would be awesome. |
