The matches were excellent. This seasons finale was way better than the first.

Good God, Diego Sanchez is a freakin chicken. With 15 seconds left in Round 2, they ended up standing and it looked like there would be excitement. but no, he had to take the wussy way out and keep taking him down and holding him there. What an idiot. I'm glad Rashad won!! Same with Kenny Florian. He seems to have gotten less shy and more of an outgoing guy.

I think Kenny did well. Did you see that link of the interview Jaysif put on Tommy's site with Nick Diaz? Don't get me wrong I think Nick is a great fighter but I can't believe when he said Diego was too greased up. WTF man!! Personally that was a pitiful excuse to me.

I don't know if any of you heard but Dana White and the UFC finally did something right at the last event. They resigned Tito Ortiz, Ken Shamrock, & BJ Penn. Talk about some huge news. Plus, Tito & Ken are going to be the coaches for the next season of TUF. it should be good considering how much real tension there is between the two. Tito signed a 3 fight deal where he's gonna fight Forest Griffin first. Where he will most likely beat the guy (but you never know) then he'll fight Shamrock in the TUF season finale in a huge rematch from 2002. Then if he wins those 2 fights he'll get his rematch with Chuck or Randy whoever wins their fight in Feb.
Also, BJ Penn coming back is incredible. I didn't watch the event but I've seen the shirt he wore and I can't wait to have him back and see him fight Hughes again.

Sweet. I didn't even know Ken or Tito were released. I hope Shamrock whoops his ass.

Cool!! I really don't know anything about Tito or BJ. I look forward to seeing Ken as a coach on TUF though. well, Tito was the champ for quite a long time and he was also the face of the UFC. then he didn't want to fight Chuck Liddell because they were friends for a long time (the same way Rich Franklin won't ever fight Jeremy Horn). Chuck said it was a business relationship. blah blah, they set up a match between Chuck and Couture which was for a Interim championship that was basically supposed to be a cakewalk for Chuck. the winner was to be crowned the Interim Lightheavyweight champ which would force Tito to fight the winner because he was still champ himself. then of course Couture destroyed Chuck @ufc 43 in what was an upset to win the Interim belt and then fought Tito @ UFC 44 and beat his ass too to become the top dog in the 205 pound division. Tito got some heat for not fighting Chuck during this time so he signed to fight him @ UFC 47 because their friendship was gone. Chuck won the fight impressively giving Tito back to back losses. Tito then won his next fight against some B-level fighter but didn't win it impressivily like he was supposed to. his original opponent was Shamrock student Guy Mezger which was to be a continuation of his fued with Shamrock's Lion's Den but Guy had health issues forcing him to retire. anyway, Tito then fought Vitor Belfort @ UFC 51 and won via split decision and then his contract was up and he had a dispute about money and has been training and working on other things since Feb. of last year. he also exec produces a t.v. station and runs his own clothing company and acts in movies and also does occassional work with TNA Wrestling from time to time because he's a pretty big wrestling fan himself. anyway, Tito is the type of guy who you either love or hate. he's done alot for the sport of MMA but he loves to hear himself talk. lol.

and now for BJ Penn.........
BJ is called "The Prodigy" because of the way he excelled in learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I've heard he earned his black belt in only 4 years and it takes most over 10 to reach that level. they also say he could have earned it sooner but Ralph Gracie doesn't give blue belts until after 2 years of solid training. I think he also won a world tournement in BJJ as well.
so anyway, he started out as a lightweight fighter (155 pounds) and fought there for a while. he had a bunch of success and his only loss was a split decision loss to Jens Pulver one of other top lightweights. I think he might have had some more fights in the UFC but then he fought a guy named Takanori Gomi who has been considered the #1 lightweight fighter in the world for years. BJ dominated the guy and won via a chokeout and was then considered among one of the best in the world afterwards. a couple months later he moved up in weight to fight Matt Hughes and wasn't given a chance because Matt had been such a dominant champion for so long plus BJ was naturally smaller then Hughes. by the way, Hughes' natural weight is about 190 pounds and he diets down to 170 to fight in the welterweight division. so they had their match at UFC 46 and Penn dominated Hughes with punches on the ground and forced matt to turn his back which led to Penn choking him out too. afterwards, Penn was pretty much considered the top fighter in the world pound for pound because he had just defeated the best in the lightweight and welterweight divisions. then after he won the belt he went off to another organization and fought some guy he had a grudge against because BJ has a reputation of not turning down any fight. the UFC has a policy about their champions fighting elsewhere because if they lose then it looks bad for the organization. he was released and then a big court battle took place and since then BJ has been fighting in smaller shows and has defeated 2 Gracies since. but I guess they worked out their differences and he's back now. Penn/Hughes II is easily one of the most anticipated matches for 2006. especially since TUF 2 where people didn't like Matt's personality, they want BJ to come back and make Matt his bitch once again. lol.
sorry for the long posts too.
