I probably would've had the biggest crush on her if she were around when I was that age. Also, I'll bet he's secretly into girlies. I made it my life's goal as a kid to not let anybody find out that I secretly had crushes. I don't know if most boys go through that, or if it was just me, but I was discreet about it. I have to see this giant in action. I was always small and this is precisely the reason everyone said I should find another sport when I was young. Everyone would be bigger than me. I'm actually thinking about buying a video camera and vlogging the trip to Denver for the Broncos-Titans game. I could loan it to you if I do. ;D Good to hear the coaches are strict. I'm sure society won't be having any of that here in California.

Some of the parents didn't like it at first here... but some of us who put our kids in football for that very reason sort of let them know that "it ain't T-Ball so if you don't like it take your boy home." Now there isn't much complaining.
Angus Weaver, the kid I was mentioning, put 2 gnarly hits on again yesterday. They won 34-0. His nickname is Beef... awesome. He isn't as tall as I am but he is thicker and there is no fat on him. He's going to go places if he keeps it up.
The best part is his attitude. I've seen him take off and run the hill with a kid that had been sent to run solo as punishment. The kid was going slow and coach yelled at him to run. Angus ran up the hill after him, said something in his ear hole, then ran past him showing him HOW to run the hill. Not a word was said to him by the coaches. He's just constantly doing things like that... I'm really impressed and will buy tickets to the HS games just to watch him play when he gets there.
Also... if you come out here to see another Titans game and cause me to have another k-stone I will shoot you ;D ;D ;D ;D No, someday I'll get to see a game with you guys.

Wow. He sounds like a genuine good kid, too. It's not every day you see a person with God-given athleticism, pretty much and be humble about it. Especially at a young age. Yeah. It's hard when our teams' home games are so far away. Denver and Tennessee is a long trip, and a costly one. Same goes for Miami and Carolina. But I have faith one of us will hit the lotto and it'll be no thang.

Well... today is the day. David's Wolverines are 10-1. They were the top seed going into the playoffs and had a bye. We won last week to put us into the Super Bowl again. The only problem is that we face the 1 of the 10-1 record. That's the exact same set up as last year... but the team they face today is the toughest I've seen.
On another note, regardless of the outcome of this game - David's team has been asked to go to the Rocky-Top all-star weekend later this month. This is the 4th SB in a row for this Wolverine age group (and if we win the will have won all 4) - and they've only lost 2 or 3 games during that span... so any way they were invited to the big weekend and get to play 2 exhibition games against the toughest competition in the region.
Wish us luck and I'll post the SB results with pictures either way.

Hope they win. I was wondering when you would bump this back up and let us know when they were in the Super Bowl. ;D
That's good to know about David! I remember you didn't think he'd get much playing time last year. I guess he's gotten bigger and better, eh?

Well, they lost the Super Bowl. No excuses the other team was bigger and faster. They only lost 7-0 the first time they played, but this time it was 18-0.
I want to be clear - I think the other team would have won no matter what: BUT, this was the worst officiated game I have ever watched in organized sports! The Trailblazers were offsides (intentionally most of the plays) on about 80 percent of their offensive snaps.
Our fans and coaches were going nuts and we are usually quiet and respectful... it is sad that two teams of hard working young men put that much into a season to have it decided like that... it was terrible.
On another side, I'm grateful the season is over... that's a lot of traveling and it's painful for me to sit at the games and practices... so my body will get some what of a rest.
They are still practicing some for the Tennessee trip. And yep, David is getting to play a lot more now. He played a ton in the SB game, even on defense in a game for the first time ever. And at Monday's practice they tried him out at RB because he is the fastest on the team.
I think I've mentioned that his coach and I are old friends that grew up together - we've talked all along about David and we've both been trying to get him to apply himself more. Coach Clint has told me and him both that if David would pay more attention he'd really be great. Clint has said many times that David is the only kid for the two years that has not shed one tear. He said if David could apply that toughness and speed he'd be playing all the time. Well... he's finally coming around and getting to play.
My guess is that we'll get our butts handed to us at the All-Star thing, but it will a fun experience.

I can imagine how frustrating that officiating thing is, especially watching your kids suffering from it. It's frustrating enough seeing your team get robbed in the NBA. I don't remember reading that you grew up with David's coach. That is pretty cool, and it's great to know he's improving, too. And I didn't know they traveled so far. I thought it was kind of a county league thing. I didn't know you go out of state.

I have to brag a little. I've learned a bit more on the tournament in Tennessee. It is considered a national championship tourney. It's one of the largest in the United States and we are competing against teams from 20 States. It's called the Battle in Rocky Top and it's in Knoxville.
O.k. now for the bragging - we played 2 games today and won the first one 28 - 0 and it wasn't that close. We won the 2nd 30 - 28... against the home town team in their stadium! We... the parents are going nuts! Maybe we win again and maybe we don't... but bye golly we have made it within 2 games of being able to say we are a national championship team!
2 games tomorrow and it's done. I never imagined we'd win one against such competition, but these little guys just keep surprising me. Wish us luck!
On a side note, I found out that the team that won our league... defeating us in the championship- may be out of our league next year. Turns out we weren't the only ones who didn't like their actions. Plus they were made up of more than one area as they collected players from their region. And they wouldn't have made weight in the tournament we are in now because they were using backs well over regulation weight. Our RB had to lose 6 pounds to play and he is small compared to theirs. I'm not meaning to sound like a sore loser but it does make me feel better for our kids that they've only lost to an all-star team.

Wow, that is awesome! How's the weather out there for the games? It's been raining for days over here and I hear it's pretty bad on the upper east side. You mentioned game 2 was 30-28. I don't imagine the scoring would be that high in really rainy conditions, so must not be too bad out there. Be sure to upload some pictures! Video would be cool, too, but I won't push my luck. Hopefully they strip the Pee Wee Pats of the title and give it to the deserving team.

Not raining here but it's around freezing.
You know the pictures are on the way - I'm on my tablet in the hotel right now.
And the little Pats can have that if we get this.
I might get a tape of at least part of the games and if I do I'll send you a copy.
The 2nd game- -we had (I think) 4 runs of 50 plus for tds - one for around 70!
And David and me thank you for always reading up on him. Of course we have a comradere with the other parents, but it's awesome to get to post the stuff here, especially now that you're interested Jason.
