Today is October 4th. I've only watched 5, so far. The first five Nightmare on Elm Streets. Hoping to finish the series tonight, watch the remake and Freddy vs. Jason, as well.

Looks like it's just us, MIB. Thanks for participating. I know you're not nearly as big of a horror fan as you are Sci Fi.

Ha... and here I thought I was winning... there goes my chance of ever having the lead. At least I do until you put yours up on the thread, I guess.
I watched "My Soul to Take" last night. I can't believe how much I liked it. After all the horrible reviews and low sales I wasn't expecting much. The condor scene was worth the price of admission alone.

I've wanted to see that movie since it came out. It was on a movie channel a few days ago, and I forgot to watch it. It was about 30 minutes in before I remembered. Dang it.

I'm guessing you would like it. That's where I watched it was on a free weekend of HBO on DTV. I recorded it on my DVR and saved it until our contest started. I might buy it someday if I find it cheap enough... mostly to check out the special features. I'd love to see some "making of" stuff and director and actor commentary.

I have a good number of films in, now. I'm about to edit in the films I watched. All the Nightmare on Elm Streets, the remake, Freddy vs. Jason, American Psycho and IT. I'm about to watch the Shining. I haven't seen that movie in a few years, but I love it. Can't wait to get it started. I'll probably just edit in now, since I won't be back on until way later, today.

What do you think of Night of the Living Dead and Return of the Living Dead?

That was the first time I had ever seen [[Night of the Living Dead]]... it was pretty good for an old BW film. They did a great job with the effects... better than lots of crap even today. I liked the main character dude too.
It had been so long since I watched [[Return of the Living Dead]] that I didn't remember much of it. I only saw it on HBO on a black and white TV back in the 80's. It is pretty much a work of art. I'd have a hard time giving it any lower than a 9.
I got to watch those types of movies when I was younger because:
My parents didn't know that I got free cable in my room from a wire I hooked up that was there from the last renters of the house. Cable companies were not very technologically advanced in the 80's.
My folks eventually figured out that they got it on the living room TV too. My Mom, being the honest lady she is, actually called and told them... they said that it would be easier to just leave it connected than for them to bother coming out to mess with it. So we just got free cable.
That's how I became a big Freddy Fan... I watched him slice people up in black and white baby!

Nice. I love those two movies, too. It's been a few years since I've seen Night. I think I prefer return, but I'd have to watch again. That's funny about the cable thing. It reminds me of one of those early Simpsons episodes where Lisa's conscience weighs on her when Homer bribes a cable installer to give him free cable.
